$600 buys a young water buffalo to plough the fields

$150 buys a hand pump/well for fresh water for each family

$120 pays monthly wage of an English Language Teacher

$50 buys a piglet for a family to breed for consumption or to sell

$50 to purchase a 2nd hand bicycle to save a child walking 6kms to/from school

$35 buys 50kg bag of rice (sufficient for one month for 2 adults/2 children)

$20 buys six chickens for a family to breed for eggs/meat or to sell

$10 buys a school uniform for a child

$10 buys mosquito nets for a family of 2 adults & 4 children

$5 buys stationary for a childs schooling
